Introduction

The 2016 Honda Civic has been fully tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and it’s earned top ratings in every respect.

That includes the best ‘good’ ratings for moderate and small overlap frontal tests, as well as side impact, head restraints and seats (rear impact), and roof strength. And with the optional Collision Mitigation Braking System, which is part of the Honda Sensing Package, the Civic manages to earn a ‘superior’ rating in front crash prevention, with automatic-braking capability avoiding a collision at 12-mph and 25-mph test speeds.

The Honda Sensing Package also includes lane-keep assist and lane-departure warning (with steering intervention).
